BRUNO MAJOR PLACES WE WON'T WALK

Ah yes, another Bruno Major track to sweep us off our feet. Following on from the equally tender song ‘Fair-Weathered Friend’, ‘Places We Won’t Walk’ is the latest monthly instalment of Major’s 'A Song For Every Moon' project, which the artist describes in a Facebook post as “a diary to my life over the past 9 months.” Listening back through his lunar tracks, it really is like leafing through someone’s journal, with all the highs, lows, relationships and complexities that life has to offer. For this chapter, the London songwriter takes a step further into nostalgia and melancholy, with an almost lullaby-esque melody which goes from slow-paced sparsity to rich rises of soul. The texture of this track could easily be placed in a mid-20th Century musical film where the male protagonist walks mournful through moonlight streets while reflecting on the mistakes he made throughout the story. Alternatively, you could go for Bruno Major’s recommended scene: “listen as you stare listlessly at the colourless sky from a raindrop speckled train window.” - HT
